MOONLIGHT STORIES: THE KING HEIR 2

Grandpa! Grandpa!! Grandpa!!! Lets continue the story, my grandchildren chorused as they gather around me under the mango tree.
I had told them a story the night before and promised to continue it tonight.

Heh! Heh!! Heh!!! I cleared my throat, they all settled quietly and with their tentative ears awaited with much anticipation the continuation of the story.
After been crowned the king " I started, Obiora brought rapid development to the community. Within a short period of time he had built, hospitals, schools and introduced so many schemes like free education of students, education of farmers, prompt payment of tax and levies and  retiring of the elderly above the age of 70. He encouraged empowerment programmes where the villagers were taught handworks like tailoring, barbing, shoe making, hairdressing among others. He also built a strong security force made up of able bodied men. In short, in general view the village was prospering and the villagers were happy

Obiora had only one problem since his ascension to the throne, he hadn't been able to locate his friend, the real heir to the throne. It was 3 years now since his coronation, he has sent many expedition to search far and near for the heir but all proved abortive as the heir was not to be found, this makes him restless and greatly disturbed. Although the former King, his suppose father was very happy with him for the great development he had brought to the village, but deep down his mind he knew he was betraying his friend.

One hot Friday afternoon, angry voices could be heard from the gate as some uninvited guests wanted to invade the palace. Their leader kept shouting the name of the king, calling him a traitor and a betrayer, Obiora who was deeply asleep in his chambers heard this voices deep in his dream. He jumped up immediately and rushed to the gate, only to be shocked to see the king heir with some touts shouting at the gate, he commanded that the king heir be brought forward at once to his inner Chambers.
Obiora the king heir was still fuming with anger, calling the cheat, a liar as he was brought forward to the king presence. I trusted you, I made you my friend, I clothed and fed you and in return you robbed me of my rightful place " he shouted pointing accusing fingers to the king.
Obiora the King pleaded and ask his guards to excuse them, am sorry" he started before explaining the whole story, I would reinstate you to your rightful place as I am ready to step down this present moment "he concluded.

They both went to visit the former king and explained everything to him, he immediately ordered for the presence of all Chiefs of the town and a messengers was sent to Consult the Oracle on matter on ground and way forward.

My son what happening"? Is the world coming to an end he asked. How could both of you bear the same name, look so much alike and even stayed together.

Obiora the heir explained his part and even presented the gold chain the King once sent him as a birthday gift, while Obiora the king explained his part as been an Orphan who stayed with prince and how he was mistakenly installed as King.

The Chief had gathered, as they were made to understand  the story and latest happening, the messenger sent to consult the Oracle rushed in gasping for air " the Oracle was  silent" he said breathlessly.

Once again I observed the little kids nodding their heads motioned to their mothers who where sitting closely also listening to the story to put them to bed, as I promised to continue the next day.

Why was the Oracle silent??
